There is nothing legal that comes close to orgasm, pleasure-wise. Yet very little is known about the brain mechanisms responsible for this extraordinary experience. In the last decade some progress has been made thanks to medical scanners that can be used to measure brain activity in healthy subjects. Here I critically review the available evidence on orgasm and the human brain.
